I wrote something about Pasig River a few weeks ago.Today, I am going to bring you to Manila Central Post Office.
The Post Office Building was considered as the grandest building during its time and is now considered as one of the dominating landmarks in Metro Manila.
Manila Central Post Office, one of the oldest buildings in Manila, was designed by Ralph Doane, Tomas Mapua, and Juan Marcos de Guzman Arellano. The building is strategically located right at the foot of Jones Bridge because Daniel Burnham, a well-known American architect who made the master plans for the development of Manila wanted to use Pasig River as an easy route for delivering mails.
Unfortunately, the post office building was severely damaged during the war. After the war, it was rebuilt.
